Abstract
A thermodynamic analysis of the process of monolayer electrocrystalliz ation of silver from a thiocyanate solution was conducted. It was show n that with a silver electrode at the equilibrium potential, silver ad ions are incorporated into the growth steps without activation from th e adsorption positions in the sites of inclusion. In the course of mon olayer electrocrystallization, the inclusion of adions in the steps re quires an essential energy of activation. The potential dependence of the incorporation stage activation energy points to partial discharge of silver adions during the process of including adions in the steps.
