Ai. Zvaigzne et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALKANE PLUS 2-METHYL-1-PROPANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 39(3), 1994, pp. 541-543
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in sev
en binary mixtures containing 2-methyl-1-propanol with hexane, heptane
, octane, cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane, 2,2,4-trimethYlPentane, and
tert-butylcyclohexane at 25-degrees-C. Results of these measurements a
re used to test two mathematical representations based upon the combin
ed nearly ideal binary solvent (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister equation and modi
fied Wilson model. For the systems studied, the combined NIBS/Redlich-
Kister and modified Wilson equations were found to provide very reason
able mathematical representations with deviations between experimental
and back-calculated values being on the order of +/-1.5% or less.
