Abstract
Results of calorimetric studies of C70 fullerene obtained from toluene -containing solutions are described. The measurements allowed us to id entify a phase transition occurring at 195 K in a 1:1 C70-toluene addu ct. The transition is probably of the second order, the corresponding entropy being close to the value of R ln 2 expected of an order-disord er transition. The results presented confirm earlier literature report s concerning an irreversible process occurring at 430 K, and associate d with the decomposition of the adduct.
