Abstract
SAFARI is a command, control and information system intended for the R apid Reaction Force, and therefore has the requirements of transportab ility and ruggedness, as well as a high degree of flexibility to adapt to differing theatres of operation. The article addresses these opera tional requirements. The various system functions that are available a re outlined, the system and software architectures are described and a n example of a real-life configuration is given.
