Abstract
Under lightening anisotropic semiconductor or semimetal films can show large transverse voltage. PbSe and PbS films have a room temperature intense sub nsec response (approximately V/MW) in the 10 mum region du e to free carrier photon drag but the effective direct matched respons e on a 50 OMEGA impedance is lower (approximately 0.1 V/MW for 1 cm2 f ilm) because of the high film resistance (> KW). CO2 500ps mode locked pulses are easily detected in the scope limit.
