Accurate masses and radii have been determined from new spectroscopic
observations and previously published photometric orbits of YY Sgr (B5
+B6) and V526 Sgr (B9.5+A2), two Southern eclipsing binaries with ecce
ntric orbits and measured apsidal rotation. The measured properties, i
ncluding apsidal rotation rate, are compared with recent theoretical p
redictions. The models indicate ages near 30 million and 200 million y
ears for YY Sgr and V526 Sgr, respectively. The agreement between theo
ry and observations is not entirely satisfactory for V526 Sgr. (C) 199
