Abstract
The Murine tumor cell line M3MC was derived from a spontaneous BALB/c mammary adenocarcinoma and maintained in culture for over 100 passages . Cultures were composed by very different cell sizes that would corre spond to distinct subpopulations. Chromosome analysis revealed the exi stence of hypotetraploid and hypooctoploid cells. M3MC cells were full y tumorigenic and metastatic in syngeneic mice. Different histological patterns were observed in tumors generated by early and late M3MC cel l culture passages.
