A theoretical analysis of generation build-up in two coupled photorefr
active ring unidirectional oscillators is performed. Generation occurs
due to the strongly nondegenerate interaction of waves on a photorefr
active grating recorded by a running interference pattern via a phase-
locked detection mechanism in an external ac field applied to the crys
tal. The influence of the degenerate interaction on the threshold of o
scillation and the frequency spectrum of generation is studied.
