ON TARIFFS, POLICING AND ADMISSION CONTROL FOR MULTISERVICE NETWORKS

We propose a tariff structure for high speed multiservice networks whi ch encourages the cooperative sharing of information between users and the network. In the case of on/off sources with a policed peak rate t he tariff structure takes a very simple form: a charge a(m) per unit t ime and a charge b(m) per cell carried, where the pair (a(m), b(m)) ar e fixed by a declaration m, made by the user at the time of call admis sion, of the expected rate of the source.
