Abstract
A novel binaphthyl (1) and three novel benzophenone derivatives (2-4) have been isolated from the fungus (Ascomycetes) Daldinia concentrica. Their structures have been established by a combination of high resol ution NMR spectra, X-ray crystallographic analysis and chemical degrad ation. Compounds 2 and 3 possess plant-growth inhibitory activity.
