M. Ashida et R. Kato, RESONANT EMISSION UNDER EXCITATION OF ISOTOPIC LEVEL IN NANO2, Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 63(7), 1994, pp. 2808-2817
Temperature dependence of spectral and temporal behaviors of resonant
emission is NaNO2 has been investigated under the excitation of the is
otopic level due to (NO2-)-N-15 at low temperatures. The emission spec
trum consists of series of isotopic, exciton and Raman lines. The sum
of the intensities of these lines remains constant up to about 18 K, w
hile those of the isotopic and exciton lines change remarkably above a
pproximately 10 K. It is concluded that excitation energy is transferr
ed from the isotopic level to the exciton state mainly by two-phonon s
cattering process. Time response of the isotopic and exciton lines is
interpreted by taking account of the transfer. Spectral change of the
exciton line is discussed qualitatively in connection with the thermal
ization of the excitons within the exciton band.
