This paper extends the parameterization that is developed in its compa
nion paper, Part 1. It first discusses the input vertical-wavenumber s
pectrum of the broad background of gravity waves that Part 1 is design
ed to treat. It then employs one moder spectral form to summarize and
illustrate the steps necessary for implementation of the parameterizat
ion. Finally, it describes amendments that would be required when quas
i monochromatic waves are to be included, and it specializes those ame
ndments to the specific case of orographically generated waves. Copyri
