Abstract
Clos networks of large dimension built with optoelectronic matrices ar e analysed from performance measures recently reported. Networks servi ng over one thousand lines appear to be possible with current technolo gy for a data rate of 1 Gb/s and bit error rate of 10(-12). Optoelectr onic matrices offer sufficient size and flexibility that these network s can be optimised for minimal numbers of crosspoints.
