Abstract
We have observed cones of diffracted light by illuminating a crystal o f bismuth silicate with a single beam of light while applying an elect ric field across the crystal. The scatter rings are a result of the pr eferential amplification of noise, which we explain here using the Ewa ld sphere construction.
