A set of coupled kinetic equations is derived for the core and a multi
-node reflector from the neutron transport and adjoint equations. The
kinetic and coupling parameters joining this set are calculated using
the scalar and angular fluxes and adjoints obtained by the Monte Carlo
and the discrete ordinate (SN) methods. Based on the results obtained
from the two methods, the gain and phase of the zero power transfer f
unction are plotted for several reflector nodes. It is found that both
methods agree when the core and the reflector are united in one node.
Differences are noticed at the high frequency range when several node
s are considered.
