Abstract
The possible use of satellite imagery to detect and map boundaries of clearings and to identify forest areas which have been cleared is inve stigated. The recording technique is studied and areas of continuous f elling are estimated from space images. Comparative results of the map ping of continuous felling obtained using data from the AFA, KFA-1000 and 'SPOT' HVR are given.
