Abstract
The Lie similarity method has been used to extend the similarity solut ions of the one-dimensional inhomogeneous nonlinear diffusion equation s. We determine the Lie point symmetry vector fields and calculate the similarity ansatz. Then we discuss the resulting nonlinear ordinary d ifferential equations. Exact solutions are found, and their relations to some real physical are discussed.
