Abstract
The effect of nickel particle addition (0.3-5.0 mu m diameter) to brit tle cement paste matrices on flexural strength was investigated. Stren gthening was observed for nickel particle addition up to 15% by volume . This was explained in terms of pore structure modifications and toug hening mechanisms using evidence provided by mercury intrusion porosim etry and SEM. Copyright (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
