Abstract
The catalogue of absolute magnitudes of periodic comets (Kresak and Kr esakova, 1989, Bull. Astron. Inst. Czechosl. 40, 269-284) is updated b y the inclusion of 86 cometary apparitions from the period 1988.0-1993 .0, and the amendment of seven earlier apparitions for which the relev ant photometric data were published within this period. The impact of the new results on the previous general conclusions concerning the fad ing rates and peculiar cases of irregular brightness changes are discu ssed.
