Abstract
Background and Objectives: To describe a case of asymptomatic gonococc al infection of the surgically constructed vagina of a male-to-female transsexual prostitute. Study Design: Case report. Conclusion: Althoug h the stratified squamous epithelium that lines the neovagina is norma lly resistant to infection with Neisseria gonorrhoeae, this diagnosis should be considered in this population, particularly if working in th e commercial sex industry.
