K. Rodewig, PROCESS AND COUNTERTRANSFERENCE IN THE PS YCHOANALYTIC TREATMENT OF ACANCER-PATIENT - THE PROBLEM OF AGGRESSION, Forum der Psychoanalyse, 10(2), 1994, pp. 147-161
Case reports of the analytic psychotherapy of cancer patients are rare
ly found in literature. The presented paper discusses the importance o
f cancer in regard to transference and countertransference. This will
be demonstrated by sequences from the beginning and the end of a thera
py. The complexity in interaction and in here especially the problem o
f aggression will become obvious in the most difficult phase of therap
y which is the separation, even more so, because this patient develope
d multiple metastases at that time.
