Abstract
Soliton transmission has been achieved in a recirculating loop at 10Gb it/s over more than one million kilometres with a 70km spacing between adjacent optical amplifiers. This experimental result makes use of in line synchronous modulation and shows the potential advantages. of thi s type of soliton control.
