Abstract
Starting from (-)-menthol, two useful precursors for the formal total synthesis of(+)-Artemisinin, involving novel OH-assisted chemo and ste reoselective C-H functionalisation and subsequent acid/base induced ch emo-selective ring opening as key steps, have been synthesised.
