Abstract
Neutron burstlike emissions were detected during galvanostatic electro lysis of heavy water. A sintered palladium cathode of cylindrical shap e was used. After 166 h of electrolysis at 200 mA/cm2, two bursts of n eutrons with durations of approximately 200 and 100 s were observed. T he cathode temperature did not show any change.
