Abstract
A method for predicting the terminal settling velocity of a single sol id spherical particle in water is described. The terminal velocity is a function of, among others, particle size and the Archimedes number o f 0 to 512000. The prediction is in agreement with that by using Stoke s law or Allen law or Newton law for drag force and is useful for the modeling of the flotation elementary processes of the particle-bubble interaction.
