O. Salminen et al., EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE-CHANGE AND STORAGE TIME ON HOLOGRAPHIC GRATINGSIN KBR CRYSTALS WITH COLOR-CENTERS, J. mod. opt., 41(7), 1994, pp. 1507-1513
Holographic gratings have been recorded in additively and electrolytic
ally coloured KBr crystals at wavelengths of 514.5 and 632.8 nm respec
tively. The storage properties of additively coloured crystals have be
en investigated for 7 years. It has been proved that the storage times
less than 4 years are reasonable. It has also been verified that temp
erature changes during the recording process are the main reason for l
ow diffraction efficiencies. Finally the influence of the relaxational
self-enhancement of the diffraction efficiency on the storage propert
ies of these crystals has been studied.
