Abstract
Dimethylchromocene contains planar C5H4Me rings in an eclipsed sandwic h structure. The Cr atom is 1.788 (2) angstrom from each MeCp plane. T he two substituted MeCp ligands are almost parallel [dihedral angle 5. 9 (1)-degrees and MeCp(centroid)-Cr-MeCp(centroid) 178.1 (1)-degrees].
