Abstract
The title compound, tetrasila[2.2](9,20)alpha,alpha'-terthiophenophane aconta-2,4,6,8,12,14,16,18,-20,22,26,28-dodecaene, C56H84S6Si4) provi des the first example of the crystal structure of a [2.2]thiophenophan e bridged by silanes. The molecule is centrosymmetric and the thiophen e rings are nearly planar.
