Abstract
Complexes [((eta6-arene) RuCl2)2] (arene = benzene, p-cymene or hexame thylbenzene), react with trialkylphosphine-carbon disulfide fide adduc ts, S2CPR3 (R = cyclohexyl, Cy; or isopropyl, (i)Pr), in refluxing eth anol in the presence of KPF6 to afford cationic complexes [(eta6-arene )Ru(S2CPR3)Cl]PF6, which have been characterized by analytical and spe ctroscopic methods. These complexes react with SnCl2 in CH2Cl2/THF to afford trichlorostannato-derivatives [(eta6-arene)Ru(S2CPR3)(SnCl3)]PF 6 through insertion of SnCl2 into the Ru-Cl bond.
