Sk. Banerjee et al., MANUFACTURING PLANNING AND CONTROL DECISION-MODEL - A DESIGN METHODOLOGY, International journal of production economics, 34(3), 1994, pp. 283-292
In this paper, the analysis and design of a manufacturing planning and
control system from a decisional point of view is demonstrated. The w
ork presented is based on the results of a EUREKA research project, FO
RCAST.1 An appropriate manufacturing planning and control decision mod
el can be developed for a particular enterprise by using a design meth
odology which identifies the system needs and requirements, outlines a
procedure for realising the functionality of the system and models th
e decisional aspects, using an appropriate formalism, in relation to t
he defined functional architecture, time dimension and informational r
equirements.
