Abstract
Numerical modelling was used to study the mechanism of the influence o f small amounts of Xe on the discharge and lasing characteristics of p ulsed electric-discharge TEA CO2 lasers. The addition of Xe to an acti ve mixture can have positive effects: it can reduce the discharge volt age and improve the lasing characteristics.
