The composting of furniture woodwastes, with and without added horse m
anure, is described. Results showed a significant reduction of dry mat
ter for all treatments. The treatments containing 5 and 10 percent add
ed horse manure showed nearly twice the weight loss as the controls. A
reduction in toxicity also occurred in all the treatments. This simpl
e economical composting method could be applied on-site for many small
furniture companies.
