V. Wulf et Hj. Schroder, SMALL-BOWEL METASTASIS OF MALIGNANT-MELAN OMA - A RARE CAUSE OF INTESTINAL BLEEDING, Zentralblatt fur Chirurgie, 119(7), 1994, pp. 515-516
This is the case report of a 63 year old female patient, who was admit
ted to the hospital due to an unexplained anemia. A malignant melanoma
of the cheek was excised four years previously (stage II, Clark level
V, TNM classification: pT4, pNl, MO), followed by chemotherapy. By x-
ray and CT examination an intestinal malignant growth was assumed. Lap
arotomy revealed a metastasis of the malignant melanoma, situated in t
he middle of the jejunum as cause of the occult bleeding. Complete res
ection of the tumor was succesfully carried out. A second look laparot
omy one year later revealed no further tumor growth in the abdominal c
avity.
