Ad. Margulis et Va. Margulis, THE QUANTUM ACOUSTOMAGNETOELECTRIC EFFECT DUE TO RAYLEIGH SOUND-WAVES, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 6(31), 1994, pp. 6139-6150
We have developed a theory of the quantum acoustomagnetoelectric effec
t due to Rayleigh sound waves in the presence of a quantizing magnetic
field normal to the crystal-vacuum interface. Electrons are assumed t
o be specularly reflected at the sample surface. For this case we pred
ict the appearance of an acoustoelectric current along the 'Hall' dire
ction orthogonal both to the magnetic field and to the wavevector of t
he Rayleigh sound. We also predict quantum oscillations of this curren
t analogous to the de Haas-van Alphen and Shubnikov-de Haas oscillatio
ns. We show that in the quantum strong-field limit the current oscilla
tions cease to be a small correction to the monotonic part of the curr
ent and can have a large amplitude.
