Abstract
The authors describe a new approach to modelling the optical electric field envelope function using a standard circuit simulator, show appli cation to the calculation of dispersive linear propagation in a unifor m singlemode optical fibre, and demonstrate that such a model can be i ntegrated with an existing model of a semiconductor laser.
