Abstract
Quench propagation velocities and conductor bot spot temperatures have been studied during the testing of RHIC superconducting dipole magnet s. These studies were facilitated by artificially inducing quenches wi th spot heaters. The results of these tests are presented here and are compared with adiabatic model calculations.
