Abstract
Superconducting generators offer many advantages. A prominent one is t o improve stability of electric power systems. This inherent advantage is further enhanced by performing quick-response excitation control. Characteristic design of a superconducting generator with quick-respon se excitation includes the adoption of high voltage and low AC loss fi eld winding, high strength and high electric resistance winding suppor t shaft, and a single damper system. We developed elemental technologi es for these technical tasks, and founded the base for establishing qu ick-response superconducting generators.
