Abstract
This paper describes experimental and theoretical considerations on sw
itching characteristics of a magnetically controlled superconducting s
witch in an experimental circuit which is composed of the superconduct
ing gate wire (which has two state of on and off), a load resistor and
an AC current source of sinusoidal wave. When the frequency of the AC
current source is low, the switching characteristics can be understoo
d by the characteristics for a DC current source which is already repo
rted. When the frequency is high, they cannot. It leads that the speci
fic heat of the gate wire must be considered, however it need not for
the case of a DC current source. This paper also shows a half-wave rec
tifier circuit by use of the switch. We show the experimental results
and the conditions that the circuit can be operated as a rectifier cir
cuit.
