Abstract
This paper analyzes the design and construction of the first magnet bu ilt in Spain; a 9T solenoid for Quantum Hall Effect Measurements. Spec ial importance is given to the mechanical model of the coil to evaluat e the effects of Lorentz forces, thermal contraction and winding tensi on. Results from partial tests are presented as well as training tests of the coil which showed a good behaviour.
