S. Kawabata et al., THE CURRENT DISTRIBUTION IN SUPERCONDUCTING CABLE CONDUCTORS WITH NON-INSULATED STRANDS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(4), 1994, pp. 2078-2081
From the viewpoint of the current distribution at the steady state in
the superconducting cable, we investigate the inter-strand coupling, w
hich affects the fundamental properties of the conductor such as ac lo
ss and current distribution. To begin with, we introduce an approximat
e analytical expression for uniforming of the current distribution in
the superconducting cable. Next, we examine the dependence of the chan
ge of the current distribution on the main factors of the inter-strand
coupling such as the inter-strand contact resistance and the structur
e of the conductor. Then, we obtain the useful information of the cond
uctor design so as to uniform the transport current distribution. It i
s also shown that the intensity of the inter-strand coupling is estima
ted by measuring the change of the current distribution.
