Abstract
The 4 GeV/c high resolution spectrometers of the CEBAF experimental Ha ll A require two mirror imaged superconducting quadrupole magnets of c osine 2theta coil configuration. These magnets are presently under con struction at Saclay under a SURA/CEBAF contract. The basic parameters are: 300 mm clear bore, 918 mm magnetic length, quadrupole field gradi ent 8.5 T/m with a 1 x 10(-3) uniformity. The paper describes the 3D m ethod used to adjust the coil geometry and gives mechanical, cryogenic and electrical parameters. It includes cable concept and manufacture procedures.
