Results of current-carrying capacity measurements and the quench behav
iour analysis for a single Cu/NbTi composite superconducting wire unde
r adiabatic cooling conditions are presented. The data are received us
ing as well the usual resistive method as the contactless flux pumping
method. The results obtained show that the latter method may be used
not only for current-carrying capacity measurements but also for cryos
tability parameters determination. These results may be important for
stability tests of high-current cables for large-scale applications (s
uch as SMES, pulsed magnet systems etc.).
