National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University, i
s developing and demonstrating the manufacturing technology for the ca
ble-in-conduit conductor (CICC) for the Nb3Sn ''outsert'' coils of the
45T hybrid magnet. This paper presents the technical development of c
abling and sheathing of long length dummy CICC and the progress of man
ufacturing development for the full-diameter coil ''A'' using the dumm
y CICC. This will include coil stress analyses, winding technique, Hel
ium penetration ports, terminations, CIC conductor insulation, heat tr
eatment and epoxy impregnation.
