A. Kimura et al., INFLUENCE OF CURING ON AC LOSSES OF CABLES FOR SUPERCONDUCTING ACCELERATOR MAGNETS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 30(4), 1994, pp. 2515-2518
Superconducting dipole magnets for accelerators have shown various que
nch current degradations and unexpected field disturbances even when t
hey were fabricated with the same cables. Such degradations become har
mful in terms of the stable operation of accelerators. The reasons for
the degradations seem to be caused by AC losses due to coupling curre
nts between strands and current sharing in Rutherford-type cables. To
clarify the reasons, AC loss and current-sharing measurements were per
formed.
