Abstract
The paper describes a computer method for the detection of paper shrin kage during the drying stages and its Potentials in quality control. T he technique is bawd On two-dimensional Fourier transformations used t o detect those periodic marks left on the paper by the wire during the formation stage, which are matched with those of the wire. Difference s in separation of lines for the two cases are due to paper shrinkage. Some results obtained for different paper grades are presented.
