Traditional farm buildung is determined by manual work and the dose re lation between living and housing. By introducing new production metho ds labour demands and labour capacity could be increased. This leads t o the following tasks for farm building: economical constructions for growing farm units, new functions for villages; ecological and animal orientated housing systems. By computer based husbandry systems it is possible to focus on the animal in developing barn systems on a high p roduction level.
