The photogalvanic effect was observed for systems containing mixtures
of azur dyes as photosensitizers with mannitol as a reductant for sola
r energy conversion. The photopotential and photocurrent observed in t
he azur A-azur B-mannitol system were 375 mV and 70 muA, respectively.
The effect of the dye mixture on electrical output, fill factor, conv
ersion efficiency and performance of the cell in the dark has been inv
estigated.
