Procedures for the generation of properties relevant for first and sec
ond law analyses of ammonia-water absorption heat pump systems have be
en presented. The properties generated can be used also for design, si
mulation and optimization of such systems. The properties generated by
the method documented here include enthalpy, vapour pressure, vapour
concentration, specific heat capacity and entropy. The procedures are
based on Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The equations gener
ated by these procedures cover the entire range of documented data for
saturated ammonia-water solutions and are quite accurate. These proce
dures can be extended to related systems.
