S. Kishino et al., SHAPIRO-LIKE STEPS FROM A WEAKLY COUPLED JUNCTION PREPARED WITH HIGH-TC SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIALS, Applied physics letters, 65(6), 1994, pp. 781-783
A trilayer junction composed of YBa2Cu3Oy/La0.7Ca0.3MnOz/YBa2Cu3Oy is
prepared and the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics are examined wi
th and without microwave illumination. The flow of the superconducting
current is observed through the trilayer junction. At the same time,
the trilayer junction is illuminated with microwaves. Resultant I-V cu
rves show Shapiro-like steps, the spacing of which is different from t
hat of the real Shapiro steps as well as the increase of electrical re
sistance of the junction by the illumination. It is also observed that
the Shapiro-like steps exhibit a kind of negative resistance on the c
urrent-voltage curve.
