Kh. Chung et Ch. Moon, SELECTIVE BINDING OF CD2-NMR SPECTROSCOPY( BY NATURAL AND SYNTHETIC ORGANIC MACROMOLECULES INVESTIGATED BY (113)CD), Environmental technology, 15(8), 1994, pp. 795-800
Poly(methacrylic acid) or humic acids were added in increasing quantit
ies to aqueous CdCl2 solutions (5.25 x 10(-2) M, pH = 6), and the chan
ges in the concentrations of both the free cadmium and chloride ions r
emaining in the supernatants were measured from the peak intensity and
chemical shift data of the Cd-113 NMR spectra. The decrease in the ca
dmium concentration was not accompanied by any changes in the chloride
concentration, suggesting that only the Cd2+ ion is selectively bound
by the synthetic and naturally occurring organic macromolecules.
